Can I apply by post or online if I am not eligible for an e-visa?
No. Visa applications sent by email or post will not be accepted or processed. Applicants who are not eligible for an e-visa must submit their application in person at the Embassy.
What documents must I submit when applying for a visa?
Applicants must provide:
• an original passport valid for at least six months beyond the final date of the intended stay in Mongolia;
• a completed, signed and dated visa application form;
• one recent passport-size photograph attached to the application form;
• supporting documents relating to the journey, such as:
o a travel itinerary;
o flight, train or other transport reservations;
o hotel or accommodation confirmation; and
o any other documents demonstrating the purpose of the visit;
• proof of payment of the applicable visa fee and service charge; and
• any additional documents required for the relevant visa category.
The consular officer may request further documents or information where necessary.
Do I need to submit original documents?
The Embassy reserves the right to request original documents when the application is submitted.
Original supporting documents will normally be returned after inspection. However, the applicant’s passport will be retained by the Embassy for visa processing.
Do I need to submit my original passport?
Yes. The original passport must be submitted with the visa application.
I am applying for visas for my family. Do all family members need to attend the Embassy?
Adult applicants aged 18 or over must generally apply in person.
A parent or legal guardian may submit the required documents on behalf of a child under the age of 18. The Embassy may request the child’s presence where necessary.
Can the Embassy return my passport by post after the visa has been issued?
No. The Embassy does not return passports by post.
The applicant may collect the passport in person. Where the applicant is unable to attend, the passport may be collected by an immediate family member or an authorised representative.
The authorised person must present:
• a signed authorisation letter from the applicant;
• a valid identity document; and
• any other document requested by the Embassy.

How much is the visa fee?
Visa fees vary depending on the visa category, number of entries, duration of stay and processing service selected. Please see the current visa fee schedule: VISA FEE
How can I pay the visa fee?
The Embassy does not accept payment by cheque, credit or debit card, or cash. The visa fee and applicable service charge must be paid by bank transfer to the Embassy’s bank account.

Applicants must ensure that the full amount is received by the Embassy. Any bank transfer fees must be paid by the applicant.
Proof of payment must be submitted together with the visa application.
Applicants are advised to include their full name and passport number in the payment reference, where possible.
Can I receive a refund if my visa application is refused or withdrawn?
No. Visa fees and service charges are non-refundable once the application has been registered and processing has commenced. No refund will be provided if: • the visa application is refused; • the applicant withdraws the application; • the applicant fails to provide the required documents; or • the visa is issued but not used. Submission of an application and payment of the applicable fees do not guarantee that a visa will be issued.
